Finnish American artist Tarmo Watia hails originally from Michigan. A longtime resident of Idaho now, he ocassionally shares his passion for painting with a passion for fishing the rivers of the Pacific Northwest.
Born in 1938, Tarmo has participated in the evolution of the visual arts for over half a century. He has visited and studied the works of master artists in museums throughout the world, experiencing them through close and careful observation.
Through years of relentless study and experimentation, Tarmo has become a master of technique, of artist's mediums and of color. Tarmo's prints and paintings rival the best works of 20th century modernism.
